MAGNETIC
WORKHOLDING
Faster set-ups are vital for machining
productivity. And helping solve machine shop productivity problems is our
business. Here is the latest installment to keep you current on what is
available to maintain your shop at peak efficiency. New mangnetic
workholding developments are the focus of this issue. MagVISE
permanent magnetic blocks and electro-permanent magnetic chucks mean business
when quicker set-ups are needed and when aren't they? These efficient and
unique rugged workholders can be even more productive with EZ-Lift
permanent lifting magnets that also reduce back injury claims.
We hope you find this information helpful and welcome your comments.

Magnetic Blocks
Do you
need faster workpiece load/unload times and custom set-ups?
If you say "YES", MagVISE Permanent
Magnetic Blocks are for you! MagVISE
ECB permanent magnetic blocks easily create powerful arrays to hold large
workpieces or gang multiple workpieces together in one set-up. No power required
so parts remain securely positioned throughout the machining cycle. The
selection of 4 sizes allows access for 5
sides free for machining for any job. Each block is complete with
machinable soft jaws for work stops or custom fixturing.
Each block provides from 1,100 to 4,620
lbs of holding force. An 8-up set-up provides 36,960 lbs of holding power.

Custom Workholding without the "custom" cost!
MagVISE Permanent Magnetic Blocks come
with everything you need to set-up your custom workholding system including 2
machinable induction blocks, an on/off
switch wrench with extension and socket, a switch-connect
socket assembly, 2
stop plates and 4
heavy-duty toe clamps for bed or pallet mounting. Top
plates are included to help align parts quickly and accurately.
Economically priced, extra savings are possible with multiple purchases.

Magnetic Chucks
For
faster machining center workpiece set-ups
MagVISE Electro-Permanent EEPM magnetic chucks
are new for normal and heavy duty drilling, milling and boring operations on
medium or large sized work pieces especially for machining centers. EEPM
magnetic workholding chucks drastically reduce set-up times while maintaining
uniform holding power over the entire work piece. Since work piece
distortion does not occur, tool chatter is minimized and surface finish and tool
life are improved
.
No electricity is needed to keep the
EEPM chuck ON, & the magnet keeps on holding tight even during a complete
power loss. EEPM electro-Permanent Magnetic Chucks are easily integrated with
Pallet changing and FMS Systems.

To compliment your magnetic blocks
and chucks you may want to consider ....
EZ-Lift
Permanent Lifting Magnets
Eliminates
dangerous straps and slings
From the Little
EZ weighing only 5.5 lbs that can
safely lift 220 lbs, with a 3.5X safety factor! (770lbs.) to the Big
EZ that lifts up to 6,600 lbs with a
3.5X safety factor! (23,100 lbs.) your work handling requirements are covered.
Use the EZ_LIFT to move plate steel, blocks or round steel and iron material in
your shop. The super-powerful "rare earth" neodymium iron boron
magnet requires no electricity. It's perfect for loading or unloading most
workpieces including press molds, plastic molds, machined parts and more.
For set-ups in a fraction of the time, first center the magnet on the piece
to be lifted. Then simply move the lever to the "ON" position to
engage the magnet. A spring-loaded lock keeps the magnet engaged until you
release it.
